UPPA (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the UPPA app, website, and related services.

1. Information We Collect

Account details such as name, email address, and profile information.
Listing details such as property information, photos, pricing, amenities, and location details.
Search and usage information to help improve discovery, recommendations, and support.
Device and technical information such as browser type, app version, and general diagnostic logs.

2. App Permissions

UPPA requests the following device permissions:

Camera — UPPA requests access to your device camera to allow property owners and listers to capture photos of their rental listings directly within the app. This makes it faster and more convenient to add high-quality photos when creating or updating a listing.
Location — UPPA optionally requests access to your device location to allow listers to pin the exact location of their rental property on a map, powered by Google Maps. This is used solely to set the listing's address coordinates and is never used for tracking or background location access.

What happens to photos? Photos captured or selected through the app are uploaded to UPPA's servers solely to be displayed as part of your listing to prospective renters. Photos are not shared with third parties for advertising purposes and are only visible as part of your posted listing. You may delete your listing and associated photos at any time through the app.

What happens to location data? Location coordinates entered or detected when creating a listing are stored as part of the listing record and displayed to prospective renters on the listing page. We do not track your location in the background or outside of your active use of the location-picker feature. Location permission is entirely optional — you may set your listing's location manually without granting location access.

Camera access is only used when you actively choose to take or attach a photo. We do not access your camera in the background, and no video is recorded or stored.

3. How We Use Information

To provide, maintain, and improve the UPPA platform.
To help users discover rooms, apartments, bedspaces, and other rental options.
To power features such as search, listing visibility, recommendations, and support.
To communicate important notices, updates, or responses to inquiries.

We may share information only when reasonably necessary to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, protect users, or work with service providers that support app functionality. We do not sell personal information.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. No online system can guarantee absolute security, but we take data protection seriously and continuously improve our practices.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your information, subject to applicable law and operational requirements. You may also ask questions about how your data is handled.
